Derby Devil Dogs Weekend Rollerderby Roadtrip Report: Savannah Its been about a month since my last visit to the old soul of Georgia and a lot can happen in that Tim. Having visited Scotland, reffed JRDA champs, suffered a broken heart, and not had a decent nights sleep in the last 30 days, Im anxious to visit the quiet serenity of Savannah on the derby packed weekend. At least four other bouts with leagues are occurring this weekend, so it was a tough choice, but Id committed to Craigen first. I hope all the others go just as well despite the southeast region ref shortage. Its a growing epidemic that hopefully wont occur next season, but thats more to scheduling than a lack of committed zebras. Thisll be my last bout for at least two weeks as Ill be in Atlanta next weekend, so Ill need to make it count. I believe my next commitment us Molly Rogers at the beginning of September. Regardless, today will be an afternoon of fun reffing and working with refs Ive known for years, while also enjoying the savannah night life afterwards. Sunday will be my day to rest, read, and reconnoiter with some folks I havent talked to in a while. Till next time, I am derby devil dog. Signing out.
