The Dons were reported to have made a bid for the Barcelona slayer on Saturday. McInnes wouldn’t confirm that, but said: “We made inquiries about all sorts of players. “Sometimes inquiries is maybe the wrong word. “It’s often just conversations with other managers to find out what is happening with their players. “We wouldn’t be doing our job properly if we weren’t keeping in contact with certain clubs, agents and managers. “You have to be prepared for every eventuality.” Celtic allowed Watt to go on loan to Belgian club Lierse SK for the rest of the season just before the transfer window closed on Saturday.
