Dermot Hogan RIP We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Offaly U21 hurling manager Dermot Hogan who passed away in Tullamore General Hospital last night from injuries sustained from a fall on his family farm yesterday. The tragedy has numbed the close-knit Offaly hurling fraternity. Aged just 43, Dermot had been involved with his local club Coolderry all his life and took on the Offaly U21 job just six weeks before this year’s Leinster semi-final defeat to champions-elect Wexford. Despite the disappointment of that result, Dermot accentuated the positives afterwards and was already looking to the 2015 campaign and the prospect of having more time to prepare what he believed was a team with great potential.
