Deschutes County public agencies understand there is tremendous interest in the Two Bulls Fire west of Bend. The Two Bulls Fire this morning had grown to about 6,200 acres. The fire is still north of Tumalo Creek. Crews made progress last night in containing the southern border of the fire. No structures have been impacted to date. This fire is under the command of Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF). The City of Bend, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Deschutes County Emergency Services, and Deschutes County Health Services, are working closely with the ODF to disseminate information. The next update is expected later today. Moving forward, we expect to share updated information each day, mid-morning. Stay tuned for an announcement about a community meeting in Bend. Saddleback subdivision and homes along Skyliners Road have been evacuated. The park district just closed Shevlin Park and advises residents to avoid Skyline Park – the ball park near Cascades Middle School. To help the operation, agencies also ask that Bend area residents avoid the Skyliners Road and Shevlin Park Road and western Mt. Washington Drive areas. Recreational trails in the Phil’s Trail area should be avoided. The best ways to follow the fire right now are: Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch on Twitter, @CentralORFire. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is providing regularly updated fire information at: (541) 550-4850. Facebook pages at City of Bend, Deschutes County, and Deschutes County 911 are other sources of information. An InciWeb page will be updated periodically : inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/3889/ .
