Description Division: Operations, Technical Services - Construction Location: Calgary Area Salary: $2,217 - $2,889 Biweekly Job Class Number: 020314 Selection will be based upon the factors cited in Article 14.00 of the Collective Agreement between ATCO Pipelines and the Natural Gas Employees Association. Satisfactory work performance including safety and attendance record will be considered. If applying from ATCO Gas, please provide copies of educational certificates/training record and your last three performance reviews at time of application. **This is a progression job to Senior Construction Operator. Progression will be made without job posting subject to the requirements outlined in Appendix B of the Collective Agreement between ATCO Pipelines and the Natural Gas Employees’ Association. Responsibilities •We have an exciting job opportunity in Calgary for a Construction Operator. This position will be responsible for the construction, alteration, relocation, replacement, and disconnection of natural gas transmission lines, including above ground appurtenances. This requires work activities with pressurized gas that can be physically challenging, under controlled situations with due precautions for safety. These activities will be accomplished either individually, or as a member of a crew. The successful applicants will assist in emergencies during and/or outside the scope of normal work hours, on occasion be available for standby duties, and will routinely be required to work away from home base. Qualifications •Grade 12 or equivalent. •Experience in the construction, alteration, relocation, and disconnection of gas transmission pipelines and related facilities is desirable. •Knowledge of company standards and safety policies is desirable. •Must demonstrate responsible work habits, learning ability, technical aptitude and mechanical ability. •Valid, recognized First Aid and H2S Certificates along with a familiarity with the operation and maintenance of fire suppression equipment will be assets. •Must possess a valid Class Five driver’s license, and be able to obtain a Class Three driver’s license with air brake endorsement. •Must be committed to active participation in achievement of safety and environmental objectives of the company, and implementation and measurement of quality assurance processes.
