Description: Intelligence Analyst Sheriff Department 701 Ball NE $68,642 - $74,896, Full-time Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide professional quantitative and qualitative analysis of highly sensitive criminal activity information for the Kent County Sheriff Department Command staff to be utilized in the distribution of human and financial resources. Researches, monitors, analyzes, evaluates and correlates information and data to identify patterns of crime including time, type and area trends and acts as a liaison with internal and external groups to provide analytical assistance. Follows established policies and procedures, local, state and federal regulations, especially guidelines pertaining to DHS Fusion Center Baseline Capabilities for State and Major Urban Area Fusion Centers and criminal intelligence systems operating procedures. Utilizes a variety of criminal intelligence software and information systems to prepare written statistical and analytical reports. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Information Technology, or a related field, combined with a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a criminal justice, military or government intelligence agency; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires thorough working knowledge of quantitative and statistical analysis; database management practices; software applications; query techniques and design; and records maintenance. Must possess the ability to apply principles and practices of the criminal and intelligence process including the collection, evaluation, analysis, reporting and dissemination of information, and the ability to prepare reports and presentation materials in formats appropriate to a variety of target audiences. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to utilize GIS, ESRI and other specialized software. Must pass a comprehensive background investigation to obtain and maintain required federal, state, and local government top security clearances.
