Desert Angels, It’s 125 - 135 degrees out here, your covered in sweat and sand, your tired and most of the time hungry. You tend to be on the crabby side because of all this. Then mail call comes and yup again there is nothing for me or some others and that adds to the frustration. Some of your brothers get these boxes from some Angels, Desert Angels. You sit and watch them opening them, they are filled with food and goodies. He puts them on a table and says take what you want. WOW REALLY? The mood immediately changes. You have food you have snacks you even get some sweet treats it’s heaven in a box sent from “Angels”. While your eating you think of home which is a great feeling when your here. A GREAT FEELING! Food, thoughts of home and knowing people are thinking of you back home. Suddenly the mood changes you forget about the heat, being tired and your not hungry anymore, everyone starts talking, laughing and just having some fun. The name Desert Angels fits perfectly. A box of food is not just a box of food here it means a whole lot more. Some day I hope we will be able to come pack boxes with you! Thank you all! The Airmen of the 451 EAMXS
