Desiree writes: Today was our third day of homeschooling for the new year, with my son who is starting the 3rd grade. We skimmed the review stuff in the 3rd grade ABeka math book, which put us at Lesson 52. The first new concept I taught him today was dividing with remainders. But he refuses to write the answers with remainders! Instead, he wrote them all with fractions! Should I insist he redo it and use remainders, or be proud that he recognizes that fractions work here, and move on? Is writing it as a remainder important to build on when we get into long division?
