Despise not the ash. What was alchemy? Were told it’s about trying to make gold from lead. But no; it’s about transformation. This work was the early study of chemistry, but ultimately is about the union of spirit and matter: the union of body and the spirit, life, the fire that has been brought to us by past journeys, forged in love / desire. Old god, Eros. Movement, and quickening he is. In time space, the chemistry of change which is dependent on change. The fire that makes clay into your Being: Your consciousness of that, in yourself – in everyone – everything, is the art. The opus. The ultimate philosophy. The alchemy of language. Hypostasis, beyond mere understanding. I remember making my first crystal in organic chem class. How did it know to do all that? How does water know to be ice? You sing, write, paint with the voice of everyone who brought you here; give voice to (be conscious of) their pain and love and desire. It lives in you. Sacrament is the acting out of this magic. The play the meeting place of gods and man. A physical manifestation of spirit / consciousness. (O Psyche.) Despise not the ash: Life sanctifies. Thats what it means, Igne Natura Renovatur Integra. By fire are all things renewed. ********* We are a way for the cosmos to know itself ~Carl Sagan ********* extra credit: cosmosontv/
