Despite Jethro Tulls and Ian Andersons consistent, vehement - TopicsExpress

Despite Jethro Tulls and Ian Andersons consistent, vehement insistence that the album Aqualung was not a concept album, all evidence point to the contrary. Aqualung, whether consciously constructed or (apparently) not, is obviously a concept album. Side A, entitled Aqualung is a series of character studies with obvious religious undertones, which together become a prelude of examples for Side B, entitled My God, an irreverent first-person perspective examining the disappointment of what Christianity, God, and Christ, have become and what mankind has done with the philosophies of Christ, mutating and twisting them into something bloody and immoral. There are three pieces on Side B that are far less poetically cryptic (easier to deconstruct and understand) than the rest of the album, lending a clear look into the narrators mind and his angry, irreverent views on religion. So, heres a trilogy within a concept. (With lyrics in the YouTube descriptions.) https://youtube/watch?v=-Kmq9uM4Mq0
