Despite a legal challenge in court in which these laws were found to be illegal and unconstitutional, these laws are still in existence in the European Union and being enforced. A simple example: My sister in the UK now has to purchase baking soda from the local pharmacy and sign for it if she needs more than 100 grams. Essential oils are difficult to obtain and traditional remedies have all but disappeared from shelves. Thousands have lost their jobs and millions have lost the freedom to choose any kind of alternative therapies other than western medicine, which causes more recorded deaths and adverse reactions in a year than herbal and other disciplines have caused in the past 100 years.
