Despite a recent media push to re-invigorate the YouTube narrative surrounding the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, the Senate Intelligence Committee released a report on Monday that refuted the partisan YouTube claim and declared that Al Qaeda operatives were involved in the terrorist attack. Further, the Senate Intelligence report called the attack “preventable,” a position that serves as a black mark on the Obama presidency and may have deep repercussions for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as she prepares to run for the presidency. The Obama Administration tried desperately to push the false narrative that a YouTube video depicting Mohammed, the Muslim prophet, was responsible for an impromptu protest at the consulate that got out of hand. President Obama and his officials pushed the story; however, recently declassified Congressional testimony reveals that President Obama and his top DOD officials were aware of the true nature of the terrorist attack within minutes of the beginning of the attack. The report unequivocally stated, “Individuals affiliated with terrorist groups, including AQIM, Ansar al-Sharia, AQAP, and the Mohammad Jamal Network, participated in the September 11, 2012, attacks.” It also noted that protests over the video may have existed, but that the terrorist attack that led to the deaths of four Americans, including our ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, was not linked to the protests but was, instead, a coordinated terrorist attack. - See more at: tpnn/2014/01/15/senate-intelligence-report-benghazi-was-a-terrorist-attack-was-preventable/#sthash.b3H6KsyY.dpuf
