Despite cat meat being banned within Vietnam as an official - TopicsExpress

Despite cat meat being banned within Vietnam as an official delicacy the trade actively continues. Why though and more to the point how is Say No To Dog Meat.Net and International Animal Rescue Foundation going to stop this? Firstly Why? Cat meat trade was banned in Vietnam as the rat population that back then had exploded shrunk significantly. Back in the early 1960s though cats were eaten as a delicacy as they had practically relieved the cites of Saigon, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Cần Thơ and many more of rats - now in Vietnam the problem is cats - and to relive the stray cat problem - Some Vietnamese people kill and eat them. How are we going to work to solve this problem? Secondly as we know cat meat trade is banned and rats really arent that much of a problem - Say No To Dog Meat and International Animal Rescue Foundations CEOs purchased a derelict building in Vietnam that is now being renovated into a cat and dog rescue and re-homing center. The law! While laws in Vietnam are shady to say the least concerning this area, if we can show the government that stray cats are being reduced on the streets then we can lobby harder for the government to force the police to intercept, arrest and convict cat meat traders. Conclusion Eventually we stop the cruel and barbaric cat meat trade How can you help? You can help by donating here to SAY NO TO DOG MEAT.NET of which your help will fund vaccinations, treatments, medical, re-homing, and when renovations are complete the everyday running of our Vietnamese rescue and re-homing center :) During the lunar month more cats are eaten in Vietnam in dishes such as little tiger. Viet Nam was once a very poor country that underwent a long war in the 1960d. Vietnamese ate literally everything that lived [animal wise]. Insects, dogs, cats, including mice. International Animal Rescue Foundation Asia and Say No To Dog Meat.Net are now working to change these attitudes, however its going to be tough and your help is required. How can I help? 1.
