Despite enduring tensions after a crisis of election-related violence in 2011, an NDI-led delegation to Côte dIvoire found that Ivoirians are committed to rebuilding their electoral system and share a common desire for a consensus-driven electoral process. This report provides a summary of the delegations findings and recommendations, as well as a review of Côte dIvoire’s recent political history and a comparison of regional election management bodies. Since the 2013 mission, Côte dIvoire has successfully reformed its election management institutions, embarked upon a renewed voter registration process and continued the work of its reconciliation commission. The delegation’s recommendations provide an ongoing reference for reforms and best practices to prepare for peaceful post-conflict elections.
