Despite everything that was going against us tonight the Prude - TopicsExpress

Despite everything that was going against us tonight the Prude show at the Dublin Castle was a fully-loaded knuckleduster. I didnt expect anyone to be there on a Sunday night post-Halloween madness, but we actually had a crowd, everyone hollering and howling like beasts around the flames. It was loose in all the right spots and tight in the others, groovalicious-sleazy, sweaty, dark and throbbing. Marc Oliviers guitar kicks always set me off, such a dream to rock with him. I thought great eraser was going to lift right off the stage. Awesome! It was a robot-rockin pole-dancin, hip-shakin show with teeth and no doubt. To have Phil Shrike mercilessly torturing his keys on stage, Matt Pathogen smashing some motherboards, Howie Beno swinging his action and Christophe Deschamps slamming some skins would really blow my skull right open. Cant wait! Its such a kick to be back in the saddle again. Been too long since I had a slamming band to ride and this Prude thangs hugely evil, best engine yet by far and gets better and better every night. Geeta Pearson turned out an outstanding set as always. I love performing with her as she rips out an achingly powerful show stopper every time, really pushes us to bring our A Game and no slouching. If you havent seen her yet youre missing the good shit straight from the bottle. Catch her now before you have to shell out fifty clams to see her at The Hammersmith Mondo Whatever. Unless the possible shows in Brighton and Lewes come together that was the last of the year, but it was a Molotov to end with, so Im thrilled. Thanks to all of the hard work and dedication from Gareth Angel and a few others I expect that 2015s going to be the year that we start laying down some rubber, so youll have plenty of opportunities to see this version of the band. Gretchen Ladish and Maja Prausnitz Hendrickson, we missed you much, you gorgeous things. Next time?! Thanks Laura Quenault for bringing Ste Hobin. He tasted salty when I bit into his steak during the show. Katy Hearne, your Icarian wings of fire are turning black and look tremendous. Paul Kazemi, welcome home. Amazing to see you after twenty-five years, you old troublemaker!! Stay unhinged, everyone! Well see you soon.
