Despite his alienation from his peers, he lent an attentive and often credulous ear to any fantastic notion uttered in his presence. This guy was talkin to someone that I was a friend to, and he say that he flew so high and so far till he couldnt come down, he once reported. and he ran into a city up there. And that city had golden gates, that open at your call. The streets was pearl, and it was people there transferred: walkin just like were walking down here. And those gates opened at their own accord: you didnt have to touch em... You know how the Bible say there are first, second and third heavens in the mid-airs. I thought over that, and I dont know how to accept that so well. (Id rather be the devil: Skip James and the blues.)
