Despite of the challenges we go through, Lets be like Wangari Mathaai- winner of 2004 Peace Prize, Lets Stand Out and become OUTSTANDING! Wangari Maathai, winner of 2004 Nobel Peace Prize, was fearless of opposition and accusation. As a highly educated woman from Kenya, she has always been active in promoting female rights and many other civil rights. Because of her divorce, which is filed by her husband, perhaps because of her “dominance - prone” character in the marriage, it was even more difficult for her to take part in governmental and non - governmental leadership. However, she still managed to see things through and keep the work going. With help from the Norwegian Forestry Society the Green Belt Movement contributed to the livelihood of women, improving their households in the farming communities and the environmental conditions. Wangari Maathai believed that she was just doing her best to solve the situation and that it was never an option to stand on the sideline. This “hummingbird spirit” brought forward by Wangari Maathai in the campaign no doubt expressed her courage and confidence in the best way. It motivated her to stand out, and in turn, made her outstanding.
