Despite peace been made a constant theme of many a world conference, peace still remains an elusive dream for man. Insincerity is a major albatross in the quest for peace. It is not uncommon for man to put his strategic interest first in any negotiations concerning peace. Man does not sincerely seek for peace, for the sake of peace. Man only desires peace when it is to his own advantage. When his interest is at risk, men often shun peace and the war drums roll. Peace is unattainable without a sincere willingness to make sacrifices, regardless of the cost involved. Our Lord Jesus Christ is called The King of Peace, because He opted to tread the arduous path that leads to peace, at the high cost of relinquishing His life. He did not make terretorial gains by going on the warpath. He sacrificed everything He had, His life inclusive, that He may gain peace and an eternal weight of Glory. Today without a single gunshot, the name of Christ Jesus is sounded from border to border, from one nation to another. Humanity will only find peace, the day we are willing to let go of everything for the sake of peace, then shall God in return grant us peace, and everything we sacrificed we will receive in abundance.
