Report castration campaign in Sighisoara / Romania from 12 to 18.09.2013 in collaboration with BMT ( bmt-auslandstierschutz.de ) Undeterred we walk on. Given the current, terrible occurrences in Romania I set out into the unknown a week ago. It was not clear whether we can work as planned in all places. But at least in Sighisoara we could without problems, just work as before. In 7 days 150 castrations (77 females, 35 males, 31 cats, 7 male) were performed. Till now I have the impression that the wave of hysteria and violence focuses primarily on Bucharest. In the other towns where I have been, but even dogs are captured to a greater mass. This brings the animal rights activists to the brink of despair, because the absorption capacities are exceeded by far. Officially but there is a clear statement to include all the dogs. A difficult, very depressing situation. Especially for the dogs, they have to endure terrible conditions under penetrated in full tightness. I find it in the current situation all the more important that we are present and clear position. Killings are not only unethical, but also lead to the solution not the problem. One problem is without a doubt, but you should fix meaningful way to its root. Why are there so many street dogs? Because still, most of the dogs are privately owned neutered and provide never-ending supply of unwanted dogs. therefore, as always, our roll call: neutering are the only way to fewer and canine thus guaranteeing permanent less animal suffering on the streets. For me personally, it is important to emphasize at this point that it is not right, Romania flat to demonize and portray all Romanians as bad people. Again, there are people which is a lot on the dogs, feed them and are trying to protect. Furthermore, many people bring us their animals for castration and are grateful for our help.
