Despite the excitement, I always get emotional before we leave for England! And its the prospect of seeing my family mainly, but also all those other things I took forgranted when living in England. Moving away from everything thats familiar has taught me many things……. 1) Change is okay, you can do it and its often even better than it was before even if it terrifies you to bits! (many women in my life have proven this recently too - you know who you are!)xxx 2) Even if you are over 40 its fine to try something new, even if failure terrifies you! 3) Beautiful things are right in front of your eyes - you hardly notice or appreciate them until they are gone. 4) Americans are not faking it - they genuinely friendly and nice! 5) Children adapt to change and surprise you constantly with their enthusiasm for life and courage. 6) American food makes you fat ;) 7) Driving an automatic and taking your test again at 40 is ok 8) No one will ever be happy with their government or school system - it doesnt matter where in the world you live! 9) Technology is a curse and a blessing all in one 10) Last and but not least, family and old friends so important to me. I have learnt to appreciate them and cherish every moment we are with them when we are together and I miss them constantly. Better go finish packing! Leaving in a couple of hours!!! YEYYY!
