Despite the fact that a majority of Israelis appear both puzzled and angry at the way Netanyahu is conducting this war, leading many to start doubting his qualifications as a leader, there is also no doubt that Hamas has suffered the worst blows it has ever encountered in its short history. And this may be exactly the way Bibi wants it, although Israelis only know one thing: they still have to live their lives based on the space existing from one shelter to the next and the amount of time it will take them to reach it as soon as the dreaded Red Alert siren starts wailing again. It may be a sensible calculation, but only if one is to assume that at one point Hamas will raise the white flag. Of all people, Netanyahu should know better. Hamas is not made of normal people who know when they’ve been beaten and will call it quits. They’re fanatics of the worst sort whose pathology can be cured only with a violent death. And yet Bibi keeps telling Israel that they must have patience. Go tell that to the Israelis in the south tired of getting mortared day and night and now migrating up north. To Hamas, even if they’re losing in most other respects, it’s a huge victory. They need to be deprived of that satisfaction in very short order. The article below counts the many ways Hamas has suffered so far, describing in particular its panic after losing its three top commanders to Israeli bombs, something that could not have happened without outstanding intelligence, i.e. deep infiltration. Since then, everyone is a suspect and they have summarily executed dozens of their own people in a frenetic attempt to root out the agents who gave the info to Israel. This is a good indication that the end is near. timesofisrael/killing-of-hamas-chiefs-will-spark-desperate-terror-attempts-against-israel/
