Despite the fact that this is facebook (which I would regard as an example of informal forum) and that I am painstakenly fumbling over keys on my little phone to communicate here, I do take the basic precautions to make sure my intent is clear and do not let autocorrect force my their into there or worse (gasp) theyre... Still I, Invariably, find myself on the recieving end of many letters from the inquisition from the grammar Nazis. This is not to say that i wont let its stand where its belongs or leave out punctuation entirely because sometimes I regard the cessation of writing more words as a strong indicator that I am done typing. This message is sure to garner the wroth of more puritanical hypocrisy but before you write that next message, consider this: First, I am quite aware of English and its grammatical standards. It was my best subject. I found a grammatical error in the secretaries handbook. Second, If you are (youre) American (see what I did there?) Dont bother. You dont have a chance of claiming the high ground. Third: What is my profession? As well as having the right to conjugate obscure words as I see fit (see immolent from role martyr x) which has now been added as a known conjugate I took from the vulgate, It is my profession to play with words. And lastly: Direct all other inquiry to official spokesman for the BBC, Stephen Fry after and only after watching his video m.youtube/watch?v=J7E-aoXLZGY and may you regain your love of the English language as it continually permutates.
