Despite the slump of world economy our agro sector showed resilence and recorded 4 percent growth thanks to normal monsoon.it is a tribute to farmers and government alike.what pulls us down is infrastructure and manufacturing. These sectors are vital as they create employments which in turn have several salubrious cascading impact on economy. It is here the issue of decision making or policy paralysis assumes significance. The next dispensation would be put to litmus test. The need to portray a sound face for securing investors confidence forced the government to prune expenditure on capital goods. The revenue expenditure continues to be at staggering level. Curtailment of funds on plan is not what a welfare state stands for. So lots of work to do for the next goverment.
