DetShadow, a past guest that reviewed us on the 18 of August, write about us: “One of the best excursions!” My wife and I did several excursions while staying in Punta Cana (8/8 - 8/15) and I have to say that Bavaro Splash was the best. Not only were they organized (others we went on were not) but they gave you plenty of time to enjoy what you came there to do. We chose the speedboat/snorkel/snuba package. I had snorkeled the day before on another excursion and was completely disappointed. You arrive by open back truck after a drive through the town of Bavaro. You are given clear directions on where to go upon arrival. The group is divided into 3 smaller groups and you watch a short video on the proper use of the speedboats then its off you go. You board a large boat/catamaran and taken out to the location for your adventure. More directions on the way, fitted for flippers and masks. Once you arrive each group did a different activity first. For us it was speedboats. They are easy to operate and although Im sure governors are installed you can get going at quite a clip. One you return its off on your next activity. We snubad, I have never done this before or scuba dived so I was somewhat apprehensive. One you get your air hose connected and instructed by your personal dive master (he has 4 people assigned to him) then down you go. Once I was down and got used to it, I have to say it was incredible. The guide gives you some kind of mystery meat to feed the fish and they literally flock around you. I was amazed and now want to learn to scuba dive. Then its up and on to the snorkeling. (I think my bad impression from the previous day was due to inferior mask and breathing tube). The ones provided at BS were better quality and fit better. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Lots of fish and reef to see. Back on the boat, drinks provided (including mamajama) and back to shore. My only disappointment was that their underwater camera was not working so we were unable to get any pictures underwater feeding the fish. Guides were very accommodating, informative and funny as hell. Other than that I had a great time and look forward to doing it again.
