Detailed List of Areas in District Chitral That will be Covered in USFs Upcoming Plan for Installation of New Mobile Towers (Please Check if Your Area is Being Covered Properly) Please note that Coverage will extend far beyond the areas for instance a Mobile Tower at one site is sufficient to provide services in all adjoining areas: The new contract will be finaliized by Mid October Inshallah and the bids are expected to be opened around 22nd October if there were no unexpected delays. Three companies i.e. Mobilink, Telenor and Warid are participating in the new bid and the winning company will be awarded the new contract and will be mandated to complete the Installation by end of 2015. It must be noted that Telenor has also ben asked by the Government to activate its towers installed in 2008 and the company will activate those towers in Four phases. However, contract for the New Fibre Optic will be finalized sometime by end of November and that work shall be done by Mobilink. The new fiber optic that will pass through Lawari Tunnel (as NHA has now given its consent) will cover the major areas of Drosh, Chitral, Garam Chashma, Booni, Kosht and Mastuj and all areas that lay inbetween. The contract will be finalized by end of November 2014. But the opportunities it will open up all over Chitral will be enormous Inshallah particularly in all fields i.e. education , distance learning, telemedicine, telecenters and brininging services such as ID cards, NADRA Offices, birth and death certificates and much much more such as a doctor sitting abroad or in other cities of Pakistan being able to supervise an operation taking place in Booni, Drosh, Garamchasha, Shagram or Mastuj. SMART TV with 150 plus cables will also be availabe in all areas with Fibre Optic. Areas beyond fibre fibre optics range shall be covered aerially through satellite due to the high costs involved in laying fibre optic for which almost 4 feet deep digging has to be done. Technology has many anwsers to todays problems particularly in a place like Chitral. Chitral will undergo a lot of positive change inshallah. Just wait and see as electronic banking, electronic shopping via credit cards, would be possible at places from Arandu to Boroghul. Not to mention Skype and U Tube being available in all areas with the new fibre optic.
