April 9 to 13, 2014 (9th is fly in and arrive day, 13 is fly out day) in Greensboro, Alabama about 2-ish hours from Birmingham, Alabama (note: DO NOT book into Greensboro, NC, as we wont be there). The Build-Vention is a martial arts business, curriculum design, and marketing education-event, where we happen to be building a house for Latonia Williams, who is gently recovering from lung cancer. Lodging: We sleep in a gym, on mats, with showers and bathrooms in the building (new showers, havent seen them yet). The Gym has a full kitchen, which we stock with (mostly) healthy food. Several churches often host us in for meals --and we eat what were served, happily. Lodging is free, all food is paid for by donations. Bring sleeping stuff. Special Guests: Environmental activist icon and author, Julia Butterfly Hill. Gracie Barras Flavio Almeida and his brother, Ricardo Almeida, and Birminghams Gracie Barra head teacher, Kaliffa Oliveira. From Easton Martial Arts and Training Centers of Colorado, Master Teacher Amal Easton and his wife, chef Casey Easton --and gang. Soke Dave McNeill of the Goju Shorei Systems.
