Details coming out of mid day meal tragedy paint a disturbing picture.. procurement seems to be a big mess.. the grain coming from govt agencies has around 10% pilferage out of what is delivered at all. Standard requirements on infra and training seem non existent, so is any serious oversight. . Given that mid-day meal scheme has been there since last 18 years, it is only a miracle that this incident has happened after such a long time..this should ring warning bells for people working on delivery of larger Food Security ordinance on controlling pilferage and ensuring delivery to right people.. unless right people happen to be the black marketeers aligned to UPA as one suspects
