Pandit Tushar Dutta is among the most celebrated vocalist of Kolkata. Born in a musical family, he is an immensely talented vocalist and has proved his musical prowess which reflects his disciplined and rigorous “Talim” under some of the greatest Gurus of Indian Classical Music. Tushar started learning the fundamentals of Indian Classical music from Pt. Bimal Mitra of Durgapur at an early age. Groomed at the famous ITC Sangeet Research Academy, as a scholar, he took lessons from Pt. A Kanan and Pt. Arun Bhaduri, two eminent maestros of the Kirana Gharana. Later he was trained by Pt. Sunil Bose, Pt. K.G. Ginde of Agra Ghrana. Tushar was the first of the two Ganda Bandh Shagirds of Pt. K.G. Ginde. He was mentored and guided by his Guru-Sister Smt. Subhra Guha over the tenure of his studentship. The distinct and mellifluous blend of Kirana and Agra Gharana in his renditions is indeed remarkable. A perfect balance between emotional and technical qualities characterizes his musical creations. The “Pukar” in the upper octaves and “fast Taans” are great listening experience for the listeners. He was awarded the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. Tushar is the ‘TOP GRADE’ artiste in the All India Radio. He has performed at almost every prestigious music conference all over the India. A few noted conferences are Akashbani Sangeet Sammelan (Rohtak 2013), ITC Sangeet Sammelan (all over India), Swarganga Sangeet Mahotsab, Mumbai, Saptak, Ahmedabad etc. Across the globe, he has been performing in the US, UK, Canada, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, France, UAE and Oman, with ever increasing popularity. He has over 50 recorded discs in his repertoire published from different companies. ****
