Detectives have reissued an appeal for information three months after a couple were robbed in their own home. The robbery took place at a house in a rural location off the B5035 in South Wingfield on Saturday, March 16. At around 8.40pm four masked men entered the house and assaulted a 75-year-old man before stealing cash and mobile phones. The same house was burgled less than a month later on Wednesday, April 10. Thieves broke into the house at around 3pm and stole electrical items. Officers are appealing to witnesses who may have seen suspicious people or cars in the area around the time of both incidents. Detective Chief Inspector Sean Dawson said: “We are reissuing our appeal to the public to come forward with information about these crimes. “The robbery was a vicious attack on a couple in their own home and we are keen to catch those responsible. “We have followed a number of lines of inquiry and I would appeal to anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward.” Anyone with information is asked to call Amber Valley CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
