Detectives have released images of two men they believe can assist with their inquiries into the murder of a 69-year-old man earlier this year. Around 4am on Friday 30 May 2014, a 67-year-old woman called Triple Zero (000) to report that she and her partner had been attacked by a number of men in their home on Elizabeth Drive, Badgerys Creek. Police and emergency services immediately attended the location, where they found the body of 69-year-old Keith Cini. Mr Cini’s partner – the 67-year woman who had called Triple Zero – was taken to Liverpool Hospital suffering head injuries. Detectives from the Homicide Squad, and Green Valley and Cabramatta Local Area Commands, formed Strike Force Basis to investigate Mr Cini’s murder. Today (Friday 17 October 2014), they have released CCTV stills of two men who they believe can assist with inquiries. The men are believed to have taken a short taxi trip to a service station in Narellan late on Thursday 29 May 2014, before heading to the Badgerys Creek area in a light-coloured sedan during the early hours of Friday 30 May. The first set of CCTV stills, taken inside the taxi the men travelled in, depict the first man. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early to mid-20s, of thin build with blond or light brown hair. In the photo he is wearing a baseball cap back-to-front. The second set of CCTV stills, taken inside the service station in Narellan, depict the second man. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s, between 180cm-190cm tall and having a slim build. In the photo, he is wearing a dark baseball cap, a blue jumper and dark pants. The Commander of the Homicide Squad, Detective Superintendent Mick Willing, said investigators are very keen to speak to the men depicted in the CCTV images. “This investigation is going very well and we’re confident we are getting closer to finding the people responsible for Mr Cini’s murder,” Det Supt Willing said. “We believe these two men were in the Badgerys Creek area around the time of the murder. “As a result, they may be able to help us with our inquiries. “No doubt there are many people out there who will recognise these two men. If you do, please do the right thing and get in touch by contacting Crime Stoppers,” Detective Superintendent Willing said. Police are urging anyone who recognises the men to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.au/ Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
