Detectives investigating the death of Phillip Floyd earlier this year have arrested a man on suspicion of his murder. Mr Floyd, aged 50, was found on Forest Road on Tuesday 28 January and was rushed to hospital with serious facial injuries. He died a short time later. The cause of the victim’s head injuries were for some time unclear, but as a result of detailed and extensive pathological examinations, it is was determined that he had suffered a severe blow to the head and a murder investigation was launched. A 31-year-old Moseley man was arrested yesterday (2 December) and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries. Meanwhile were appealing for anyone who was in Forest Road on the evening of 28 January to come forward. CCTV footage showing two cars and a man running along the road has been re-released in a bid to trace them. As part of our investigation we have seized a car from the Small Heath area which is now undergoing detailed forensic tests. We have also interviewed a local woman as a witness, who has been helpful in assisting us with our enquiries. The information she has provided will be examined in more detail.
