Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating an incident that occurred in the parking lot of a U.S. 1 South business early this (Saturday) morning.Deputies along with rescue personnel responded to the 2400 block of U.S. 1 (Krystal) at 2:10 a.m. in reference to a female who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was treated at the scene by fire/rescue personnel and was then taken by air ambulance to UF Health in Jacksonville with life threatening injuries.The driver had left the scene, however was located by detectives and is being questioned. The investigation is continuing and additional information will be released when it becomes available.
