Detention center to switch commissary vendor SNOW HILL—The Greene County Detention Center will have soon have a new inmate commissary vendor. The Greene County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted Monday to change the county’s inmate commissary service from McDaniel Supply to Keefe Commissary Network. “Due to the recent problems the county experienced with the commissary fund in the jail that ultimately resulted in criminal charges, we began to look at other options for the commissary,” said interim County Manager Richard Hicks. The former jail administrator allegedly embezzled $10,000 from the inmate commissary. Keefe Commissary Network provides hygiene products, snacks and other goods to inmates.
