Determination... Satan trying to keep me from posting this evening as this is my 3rd attempt, and I will keep right on trying. Yesterday we spoke about the fact that we are the Church.. The body of Christ - not the building. Today I want to share a very important part of being in the body of Christ - witnessing. 1 Peter 3:15 tells us "Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and ALWAYS BE READY TO GIVE A DEFENSE TO EVERYONE who you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear." Meekness and fear - does this mean we are to answer in a mild manner, fearful of any retaliation for our beliefs? NO - NO - NO. We are to answer with full authority and boldness, remembering to give God all the credit. NO - NO - NO we are not to fear what others think, but we are to fear God. "Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us ........" 2 Corinthians 5:20 Was Christ fearful of being different? Did he withhold his beliefs in a meek and mild way? Should we? We are told in Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me ............, and to the end of the earth." In other words, get off our butts, get out there and spread the Word of God, just as Jesus did.
