Deuteronomy 31:1-9 Moses was now 120 years old and his eyesight and natural strength were not diminished. This in itself is a miracle. God is about to take him unto himself. He is now saying his final words, and they deal with future leadership. He tells them to serve the Lord, not to be afraid for the Lord will go with them and never fail them. He sets young Joshua before them, the one the Lord has chosen as his successor. Joshua is to go with Israel across the Jordan and settle them in the land of Abraham. The Lord will be with Joshua and the people as long as they believe and obey Him. In chapter 31:14,15 Moses calls all Israel to the tabernacle, along with Joshua, where Gods presence comes down over them. And in chapter 32: 1-4 Here is the song Moses gave to them, which they were to sing and teach their children. What words! He is the Rock. Gods work is built on himself, the Rock of Ages, which is His faith in action and our faith in Him. Jesus built His Church on this ROCK and the gates of hell shall never prevail against it - Matthew 16:18. Amen. To God be the Glory.
