Devils Kettle - the nickname for a strange location within Judge C. R. Magney State Park in Minnesota. It refers to a spot where a river splits off into two directions - one flows into a small waterfall, the other into a pothole. The real weird part is no one knows where this pothole actually leads to - the water just seemingly disappears. Researchers have attempted to figure out the ultimate destination of the water with dyes, ping pong balls, and a few other things, all with nothing to show for it. There isnt even a basic geological explanation for whats happening - while some have theorized that the water ends up in an underground channel that has an outlet near Lake Superior, that would require a fault beneath the surface...and theres no evidence such a fault even exists, let alone is the answer to the mystery.
