Devo Day 1 Thought: I love this devo and here is why: 1. Fire goes out quickly when camp is over. 2. Loving people and loving each other is like oxygen and gasoline that fuels the fire. 3. If you want your fire to be fueled you will be intentional today and tomorrow, and this week to seek out ways to love other christians but then to also love a broken world. Im currently in Honolulu right now and am actively seeking some ways to love strangers.. yeah that sounds strange doesnt it? Seriously though, I am. Every person I meet on the streets, while sitting in Starbucks working, while visiting churches tomorrow to preach Im going to make it my goal to share Jesus with at least 3 people. Ive already go the first one finished! I went to breakfast at Cheeseburger Waikiki and the waitress asked what I was doing here. Expecting for me to say vacation I said well not vacation, Im here to spread hope. A little perplexed she asked me what I meant an over the next couple minutes I shared about being a traveling preacher, and mission worker. I shared about my heart for students and how Live Love is seeking to plug them into justice organizations for the Gospel. What ensued was this waitress pouring her heart out to me about her recent divorce and how her ex-husbands family were owners of a Christian radio station yet always judged her harshly.. I was able to look at her square in the face and say At the end of the day the thing that really matters is love, not judgement, and that was demonstrated by God sending his Son here for us. Id love to say she accepted Christ right there but that wasnt the case. We talked for a few more minutes and then she got busy. Who knows what God will do with a little seed planted. My hope is that someone comes behind and waters it. You never know what seed you are watering or what seed you are planting when you are in public; so do it well and watch the fire inside of you grow! Until tomorrow.... peace out!
