God promised to keep the Israelites from the plagues that afflicted Egypt, but this promise was tied to obedience. The Lord told the people to “listen carefully,” and “do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and laws.” Physical well-being was closely linked with spiritual well-being. God is concerned about our whole person—both spiritual and physical—and he has prescribed the best way for us to remain healthy. Prayer: LORD JESUS CHRIST, you heal us of illnesses and injuries and restore us to health. Even more, you have over- come the greater plague of sin that infects us all.
