Devotion. Who am i compared to the power of wind and tide? When they choose to change, none can run and hide. Who am i compared to the moon in the sky? With no fame, with no fortune, A mighty force from a distance, all of creation comply. Who am i compared to the little ant? Miniscule the portion, such devotion, Lifting 1000 times its weight, relentlessly working from eight until eight. What is it that I do, that is actually that great? I begin to realise the littleness of being me I realise the complexity of creation beyond the understanding of biology, To know just this, i drop to my knees, An experience of devotion through humility. Aum Namah Shivaya my friend, This poem is inspired by the video on Devotion by Sadhguru Ive shared here on my page today. Ive always thought that devotion is an action. Usually used in context of practice of religion or a cause. However, today i am made aware that devotion is not an act to say the least. Devotion is a state of being that is void of fear, because we know the true nature of our existence. This knowing is beyond the understanding of the intelect. There is an awareness that the intellect is a limited instrument, with it we cannot truly understand the world. Through this understanding there comes a sense of humility. The ego shrinks into nothingness. The shrinking of the ego then changes how we perceive and respond to the outside world. Have a listen to the video. Contemplate on this matter and hopefully youll find something that will change how you view your life.
