Devotional: 01 June 2014 The Law of Confession – I Scripture for the day: Genesis 1:3-7 God spoke the earth into existence. Genesis 1:3-7 says: Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light...Then God said, “Let there be a firmament…and it was.”. God is the originator of the law of confession. Man was created in the image of God – a speaking being. God created you and I to function like Him. Man was created on the sixth day, and on the seventh day God declared rest. The seventh day was actually man’s first day on earth, he had not done any work and so was not tired, neither was God tired. But God declared that rest so man could spend time with him and be taught these laws that govern the earth. Notice that Adam lived very long – almost a 1000 years (even after the death decree was passed), for a long time he didn’t know how to speak death, he was always confessing long life. And so he experienced it. He knew how to operate the law of life in Christ Jesus which superseded the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” When you speak out, you set up in motion a spiritual process.
