Devotional: Making Mistakes Mistakes are not the end of the world. Blunders and slip-ups are normal and characteristic of being human. Being at fault is something that should never cause fear, because we learn from our mistakes. It’s amazing how many people detest being wrong so much that they would rather blame others or the circumstances instead of accepting the responsibility. Owning up to our mistakes allows us to practice accountability. Admitting that we are responsible for our behaviour in a situation often aids in its resolution. We make wrong choices, say the wrong thing and do things that dont work out. All this is normal. The problem lies in not being able to own up to our part of the problem or, on the other hand, hang on so tightly to our past mistakes that were afraid to make any move at all. Consequently, we shouldnt be so hard on each other when we do fall. We must learn to encourage one another. The good news is that the Lord accepts us as we are, mistakes and all. His will is that we accept His correction, move forward, learn from our mistake and share the wisdom weve learned with others.
