Devotional for July 11, 2013 When You Look Back Over Your Life … It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever sat down and evaluated your life? Have you noticed where God has brought you from? Can you see growth within yourself? So often in our lives, we miss the move of God because we are in the wrong position. We never sit down long enough to see where the Lord has brought us from. We become focused on our own agendas. We’re constantly moving. Constantly doing something. Are you a better person than you were this time last year? Have you graduated to new levels? Are you still imprisoned by the same test and storms as last year? Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. My friend, When You Look Back Over Your Life … can you see how good God has been? (Briefly close your eyes) Think back to the time in your life when nothing seemed certain. Think back to the time when your back was pressed against the wall. The time when you had no money, no peace, no joy, no job, no vehicle, no spouse or child. Think back to the time when your friends walked away. The time when sickness attacked your body. The time when depression attempted to destroy you. The time when death tried to overtake you. The Bible declares in Genesis 18:14 - Is any thing too hard for the LORD? … When You Look Back Over Your Life … have you neglected to give God the rightful praise? When no one understood your pain, God gave you comfort (John 14:26). When no one could be trusted, God reminded you of all He has done for you (Psalms 118:8). When you wanted to give up on life, God strengthened you (2 Corinthians 12:10). My brother, my sister, what are you currently facing today? What decision are you battling with today? Have you forgotten about all of the things God has done for you? Dear friend, When You Look Back Over Your Life … you will notice that God never forgot about you. The Bible declares in Psalms 91:1 - He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. When attacks came against you, God was your shield (Psalms 28:7). When the weapon was formed against you, God promised that it would not prosper (Isaiah 54:17). When cancer or any other disease tried to take you out, God sent Jesus to die for your healing (Isaiah 53:5). When You Look Back Over Your Life … you have to testify that God has been good.
