Devotional titled Weathering lifes storms Life has you in the midst of a terrible storm. Maybe your marriage is on the rocks or you have a wayward child. The economy has hit your business hard and layoffs are ahead. And you are left asking yourself the question, “What am I going to do now?” You wonder how you are going to continue. How many times do you think the disciples of Jesus asked themselves this question? During one storm in particular, they were in a boat in the midst of a horrible squall. They thought this literal storm would be the end. With their lives supposedly hanging in the balance, they woke Jesus thinking they were going to drown. Luke 8:24b-25 gives Jesus response, “He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. ‘Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.” In the midst of the storms in our lives, we need to ask ourselves that question of Jesus – where is our faith? Even in the worst of times, place your faith in Christ and know that He can carry you through any storm.
