BTW Charles Michael Ray, if youd been listening to the Save the VA testimony closely, you would have noted that nearly 90% of the veterans served by Hot Springs RRTP come from places OTHER than Rapid City, and that the data used by Save the VA comes from the VA itself through Freedom of Information Act requests, so the comment you make in your piece about Rapid City veterans complaining about traveling further for care is simply wrong. The reality is that most Rapid City veterans are already treated at the Rapid City CBOC or in Fort Meade, which is approximately 30 minutes away, maybe an hour round trip. Compare that with veterans from Alliance, Scottsbluff, Pine Ridge, Chadron who travel between 2-6 hours hours round trip just to get to Hot Springs, who would be forced to travel an additional 90 miles to Ft. Meade if this proposal were implemented... youre comparing apples & oranges, buddy.
