Diageo’s 2015 Learning for Life Program launches on January 23rd!! We are starting off the New Year with an exciting, brand new eight-week class at FIU’s Kovens Conference Center, here at the North Miami Beach Biscayne Bay Campus. Once again, this transformative program is free to qualified candidates and will be providing valuable hospitality and service excellence skills training, essential life skills, and industry certifications from key institutions, including a certificate of completion from FIU! Most importantly, candidates who successfully complete the eight weeks of classroom and practical training, and certifications, will earn the opportunity to participate in 80 hour internships and earn $500 upon successfully completing internships. Certificates of Completions will be earned in the following: • ServSafe or SafeStaff mandatory Food Handler Certification from the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA) • Banquet Setup certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) • Restaurant Server certification from AHLEI • Service Excellence certificate of completion from FIU Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Education & Research (IHTER) • Certificate of Program Completion From FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management Classes begin on Friday, January 23rd. Attached please find the registration packet that need to be filled out upon qualifying and referring your clients or potential candidates. Registration ends on Friday, January 9th, 2015. We will be vetting candidates between January 12th and January 16th and will confirm acceptance the following week. Class will, once again, be held here at the Kovens Conference Center in our Biscayne Bay Campus and will be held Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 1:00pm, through March 20th, 2015 . Participants must want to complete entire program, with a positive attitude, and be fully committed to completing all eight weeks, and have the availability and time to show up every day, be on time, and willing to embrace this opportunity to better themselves.
