Dialectic - the new word I learned today. Dialectic loosely defined is a method of reasoning a resolution through rational discussion (conversation) - ultimately a search for the truth. Existentialism Philosophy - G.W.F Hagel & Soren Kirkegaard each held opposing views of the historical dialectic - the society (collective) vs. the individual (spirit) - each view contributed to the synthesis of the definition of dialectic that I want to zero in on: that dialectic is not just a conversation (rational discussion) - but a confrontation - a confrontation which leads to a change in how we view life and the way we live... Confrontation of the classes historically becomes the engine for change - change in the way we as a society - as individuals - think about how we want to and choose to live our lives. Today we are in the midst of a major confrontation between people and: corporations, encroaching governments, economics (what is money?), religions, science, climate, war for profit, medicine for profit, loss of liberty, militarization of police who view the awakening public as their enemy, etc. ... Think BIG PICTURE - How should we live our lives? Are we truly free? And if not, who really controls our lives? What is money? What is health? Dialectic... This is the confrontation we are currently surrounded by - and is driving our awakening that will benefit all mankind - we are on the verge of forward evolution (via revolution?!)... Or - the other result of this dialectic is being further dumbed down so that those in control stay in their position of control and the people exacerbate as peasants under more intense serfdom. Rereading what I wrote, Im not sure if I got my point across - but - I like the word dialectic... Thanks!
