Diamond went in for her spay on Thursday at All About Animals and - TopicsExpress

Diamond went in for her spay on Thursday at All About Animals and was picked up that evening. On Friday her foster said she was very mopey, Saturday foster called me and said she was not feeling well at all. I assumed she might be having more pain then her sister Ruby who was also spay the same day. By Sunday morning her belly looked like this and oozing pus. Her foster took her immediately to our regular vet who said to get her to ER right away, she had infection under her belly from the spay. Dr. Ruland at EVH was hoping the infection did not get beyond the abdominal wall, however after getting in there it sure as heck had. She was full of pus every place, including where her ovaries use to be. EVH got her infection all cleaned up, including her incision and a drain tub put in as well. I looked at her incision yesterday and it didnt look anything like this. However Diamond was suffering for a couple of days and us not seeing what was going on in her insides until the bumps and pus were coming out this morning. Thank goodness she has a sharp foster Mom who was all over this without even contacting me, by taking her to our vet this morning. If you are able to spare a few dollars to help us with her emergency care, this would be very much appreciated. We have endured a number of unexpected expenses with our foster pups as of late. providingforpaws.org
