Diana asks, Another hopeless sleep question. LO just turned 1 year and were attempting to go to bed without 30 mins - 1 hr of screaming his head off. Tonight was over an hour by a few mins. Is there a milestone that Im not getting?? We took the crib out for the floor mattress. He has N.E.V.E.R gone to sleep without crying! Its a PU/PDmethod. Theres no CIO involved and the baby whisperer frowns upon CIO actually. You pick the child up and comfort him/her, then put him/her back in the crib and be present to help calm the child as needed. The goal is that when the child goes into bed, s/he has the skills to fall asleep unaided. Its so frustrating that after 7 months of attempting the baby whisperer method that we have only made a few steps! He just refuses to go quietly into the night and Im tearing my hear out trying to figure out what I can do to make falling asleep a more pleasant experience! ;_;
