Diane Barcelo, a Southern New England artist featured in the exhibition One Language is Never Enough at the Fitchburg Art Museum truly captures the spirit of the exhibit. Her pieces combine written language with mediums like copper to incorporate a sense of poetry into her collages. She believes that this exhibit is a great fit to showcase her artwork that speaks to both the possible and impossible. She has been working on these pieces since 2006, and create homage for not only her father’s memories, but also to all of those who have had to be far from their roots. Her efforts to match images with texture creates a colorful and vivid collage that captures what the Fitchburg Art Museum has been trying to represent within the community during this exhibit. You can visit Barcelo’s mesmerizing collages through January 4th, 2015 at the Fitchburg Art Museum.
