#DiaperMentality A different perspective on the so called war - TopicsExpress

#DiaperMentality A different perspective on the so called war against terror...Its economic sabotage by #Jubilee, claim Somalis. WHAT our MPs and former Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim are saying has been obvious for a long time, in fact going back to around the year 2000. That was when Somali investors started constructing buildings in Eastleigh. And that was when the then Nairobi City Council started to neglect repairing the main roads in Eastleigh. The council also stopped collecting garbage in the area. The state of roads and uncollected garbage grew progressively worse as the building boom hit a pinnacle in 2010. With no more properties available for sale in Eastleigh area, Somali investors bought land in South C and other areas where they began constructing residential estates for sale to buyers. They also sought to move in on the Ngara area where the former Asian traders had been bought out by Kikuyus. Incidentally, Kikuyus had bought from Asians in Eastleigh but then sold out to Somalis. The then Nairobi CBD Chairman, Tim Muriuki, made a Press statement calling on the Government to hold the Somali advance towards the CBD at Ngara. With prospects for a return to law and order in Somalia in the offing, after the Alshabaab was ousted from Mogadishu, there was speculation in 2012 that Somali property developers would flog off their properties and return to Somalia. But this hope has not materialized. The Operation Linda Usalama and the massive deployment of 6200 policemen is clearly part of a carefully contrived conspiracy to force the Somali investors to offload their properties cheaply and return home. But the conspirators are in for a rude shock. The investors are inextricably linked with Somali businessmen from North-Eastern who have benefited immensely from their partnership. So, they are not going anywhere - at least for the foreseeable future.
